Dairy-Free and Dye-Free Shamrock Shake

Enjoy the classic Shamrock Shake without the dairy or artificial dyes! This recipe is vegan and gluten free.

Ingredients

  • Dairy free vanilla ice cream – I used Oatly, but any brand will work. Just note if you use a coconut based ice cream, it will add a coconut flavor.
  • Dairy free milk – Soy, oat or almond will work well.
  • Frozen banana
  • Fresh mint leaves – Adds a natural mint flavor while adding to the natural green color.
  • Vanilla extract
  • Matcha powder – Gives this shake the green color without using dyes. Also adds antioxidants and a bit of caffeine!
  • Dairy free chocolate – Adds a mint-chocolate combination to the shake and adds a nice visual contrast in color.
  • Dairy free whipped cream

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pint Dairy-free vanilla ice cream

  • 1/2 cup Dairy-free milk

  • 1 Small frozen banana

  • 10 Fresh mint leaves, additional for garnish

  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp Matcha powder, sifted

  • Dairy-free chocolate

  • Dairy-free whipped cream

Directions

  • Add the ice cream, milk, frozen banana, mint leaves, vanilla extract and matcha powder to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • If desired, melt a small amount of chocolate in the microwave for 20-30 seconds at a time, stir and repeat until melted and smooth. Drizzle along inside edges of glass.
  • Pour shake into your glass. Top with whipped cream and additional chocolate chips and mint leaves if desired.
